How we became Sister Method

Where It All Began

Growing up, we always knew birthdays were special in our house. Every year, our mom would transform our kitchen into a magical wonderland with whatever theme she had dreamed up for us. Walking downstairs on our birthday morning to see the kitchen completely decked out before heading to school was pure magic—and it set the bar incredibly high for how we'd celebrate everything moving forward!

Our mom didn't just stop at decorating our house; she made sure our birthday parties matched seamlessly, whether we celebrated at home or somewhere else entirely. That extra sparkle she added to every celebration taught us that love shows up in the details, and we've carried that philosophy with us ever since.

Where We Found Our Calling

Fast forward to college, where as sisters we were lucky enough to attend together and had each other to lean on for all our celebration adventures! We treated every single birthday like it was a 21st birthday—special, fun, and as over-the-top as we could possibly make it. Following our mom's lead, we'd start with a theme (anything from a favorite color to a beloved song or holiday) and run with it!

Our skills evolved beautifully each year. Freshman year featured balloons scattered on floors, streamers creating perfect photo backgrounds, and of course, the birthday girl always had her sash and crown. Sophomore year brought custom signs and—wait for it—our very own Snapchat filters! We thought we were absolutely revolutionary (and honestly, we kind of were).

Then came junior year and our 21st birthdays, when Hailey and her friends finally got to live in a house together. That's when everything changed! We learned to create stunning balloon garlands that became our signature touch. We crafted personalized 21st birthday signs that set the theme for entire parties, designed elaborate tablescapes, and even brought wigs and custom fatheads to the bars—which were always absolute hits!

Taking It Home and Taking It Seriously

During Hailey's junior year, we started bringing that same energy to every celebration back home. Birthdays, holidays, even our dog's special days—if it could be celebrated, we were there with decorations and that same kitchen magic our mom had given us.

Everything changed in 2021 when we got our first Cricut machine. Suddenly, the possibilities became endless! We could create custom designs and logos for cups, koozies, shirts, hats—you name it, we could personalize it. Our friends and family started noticing our talent, constantly telling us we needed to turn this into a business. But honestly? We were hesitant because we loved doing it purely for joy, without pressure, knowing that even if it wasn't "perfect" by our standards, it was still pretty great.

Our Creative Process

Every celebration starts with a theme or vibe that captures the person we're celebrating. We dive deep into research, creating vision boards filled with inspiration and ideas. From there, we design custom logos and graphics for all the event merchandise, fire up the Cricut to bring everything to life, and finally gather all the décor just in time to set up and get the party started!

The Magic We're Really Creating

Looking back, we realize what we've always wanted to create is an atmosphere where each person feels as loved and celebrated as we did growing up. There's nothing quite like seeing someone's face light up when they see everything we've put together, knowing they've been thought about and that we're creating memories that will last forever.

These are the moments that become stories: "Remember my golden-themed birthday with that incredible tri-color balloon garland and all those chains in my house?" Every celebration becomes unique, every memory becomes a story to share for years to come.

The Moment Everything Changed

For the longest time, we didn't listen when friends and family urged us to start a business. After all, this was about celebrating the people we love, and being extra and making each party fun and different is just what makes a good party great!

But everything shifted in March 2022 while we were setting up Shannon's birthday at a local restaurant. The theme was a sophisticated "wedding" dinner party complete with white roses and baby's breath, elegant candles, white balloons, a custom neon sign, and personalized merchandise.

We had to set up our decorations in the main dining room while waiting for our private room, which meant everyone could watch our process unfold. As we arranged the flowers and perfected the tablescape, restaurant employees kept stopping to tell us how beautiful everything looked. The dinner party before us approached asking for business cards because everything "looked so good." When we explained we "just do this for fun," they thought we were absolutely crazy for not charging people!

That moment was our confidence boost and our wake-up call. Maybe we really could do this professionally!

Our Promise To You

Which brings us to today and to you! We want to help and inspire people to celebrate everything exactly how they imagine it, and we'd love to be part of any event you have in mind. Every occasion deserves that extra sparkle, every person deserves to feel celebrated, and every memory deserves to be extraordinary.
